Kathy Mitrani is a Colombian filmmaker who works with narrative and avant-garde styles. She holds an MFA degree in Film Directing and Screenwriting from Columbia University.

​Kathy’s short films have screened internationally in festivals such as AFI Fest, Chicago International Film Festival, Curta Cinema in Rio de Janeiro and Palm Springs ShortFest. Her films, Rozada and Buzzkill were both selected as Vimeo Staff Picks. Buzzkill was awarded the University Short Film Award at Hamptons International Film Festival and was also selected as film of the year by Nobudge. Her latest short film, Sombras Nada Más, won the James Bridges Production Award and was awarded the NYC Women's Fund in Media, Theatre and Music by the New York Foundation for the Arts and the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment. Kathy is currently living in NYC where she taught screenwriting at Columbia University for the undergraduate liberal arts program and worked as an Assistant Professor in their MFA program mentoring both directing and screenwriting students.
